Metro Quadrangular Inter Region Selection Trials 2 March 2025

It was a great day at St Ives Bowling Club today for the Metro Quadrangular Inter Region Selection Trials.

The weather was excellent and the bowls were excellent making for a top day for everyone. Huge thanks to St Ives for putting on a great day, also to Mark Alexander and the Selectors for setting up our squads.

The visiting Sides were studded with State and National players making for a great exhibition of bowls for the many spectators and also giving the three Metro North-East squads (Men’s, Women’s and Senior Men’s) a great warm up for the upcoming State Inter Region event in May.

Also of note was that it was an historic day for NSW bowls with Women’s Sides playing in Inter Region Selection trials for the first time. Traditionally, the Inter Region (formerly the Inter Zone) was a Men’s State event however, with unification, we now have an equivalent Women’s Inter Region Championship and today was the first regional trial for this event.

The final squads for the State Interzone will be announced in the coming weeks.
