Announcement of Region Selection Committee

We are very pleased to announce the bowlers who have been appointed to the inaugural Selection Committee of the Metro North-East region.

The Committee will initially comprise four members:

• Mark Alexander (Harbord)
• Matthew Blackburn (Belrose)
• Christine Gordon (Harbord)
• Jenny Hepburn (Neutral Bay)

These members all bring valuable experience from roles as Selectors at Zone, District and/or Club level. The committee will elect a Chair of Selection; an announcement will follow.

The primary task for the Committee will be to select the sides to represent Metro North-East in the statewide Inter-Region Sides Championship, in the categories of Men’s, Senior Men’s, and Women’s (Open/Senior combined). The Inter-Region is the pinnacle opportunity for individuals to represent their Region. It is also a NSW State Selection pathway event for players seeking to be viewed by the State Selectors in the hope of being considered for selection in a State squad.

The Region wishes to thank all those who submitted an Expression of Interest for our Selection Committee, for their willingness to give their time and skills in support of the Region.

With the Match and Selection Committees now in place, the Region will seek volunteers for the Umpires and Juniors committees at a later date.
